Every program will emphasise skill development through free skiing in a variety of winter environments; trees, powder, big mountain, bumps, aerials and terrain parks. This exposure and mileage becomes the foundation for all future development and success in winter sports.
The different age groups offer a fun-learning environment in a group setting focusing on fundamental athletic skills, core strengthening, coordination and stamina.
We define success at each age group by the increased improvement of each individual and the athlete’s rate of growth and development dictates every stage of progress and specialisation.
We encourage and offer personal assessments and competitions for all participants for their own confidence and individual evaluation. As the athlete matures we encourage the use of specific sporting skills and fitness towards competing in their sport and a single discipline should be chosen as the primary focus.
The importance of having fun is a must! We also place a high emphasis on being goal oriented for young athletes, striving for excellence whilst mastering the Free Ski disciplines. Mount Hotham Free Ski believes in developing true life skills such as working toward developing confidence, learning tactical and technical skills, strengthening the individual’s physiology with a competitive spirit whilst working within a team environment .
